Operator I, Highway Department

The employee in this class is responsible for operating and maintaining light construction equipment, in order to repair and reconstruct roadways and bridges. Mows weeds, trims tree limbs, and/or removes trees. Removes snow and ice from roadways as required. Inspects equipment for proper and safe operation prior to use. This employee reports directly to the Crew Leader/Field Supervisor.

Must have a high school diploma or GED. Class A CDL with ability to obtain HazMat and Tanker endorsements within six months of hire.

Working Hours:
6:30 am- 5:00 p.m. M-T

Starting Salary:
$27,664 - $28,704/year, plus Benefits.

PC Specialist, Information Technology Department

The PC Specialist provides daily support to end-users. The employee will assist with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of computers, peripheral equipment and software. This position reports directly to the Information Technology Manager.

Must have a High School diploma/GED and an Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field. Must have a valid driver's license. The employee may occasionally be required to travel throughout the County; may be required to travel within and out of state.

8-5 M-F Generally

Human Resources Specialist - Recruiter, Human Resources Department

The Human Resources Specialist - Recruiter performs a wide array of human resource functions primarily related to recruiting and implementing employee wellness initiatives. This position reports directly to the Assistant County Administrator - Finance & Administrative Services.

Must be legally licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle. This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Human Resources or related field. One to three years of increasingly responsible related experience in Human Resources is required; experience in public employment human resources and payroll processing is preferred. Any combination of education, training and experience in Human Resources that demonstrates the ability to meet all responsibilities, knowledge, skills and abilities listed above may be considered in lieu of education or experience.Must have a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Desired qualifications: International Public Management Association Certified Professional in Human Resources (IPMA-CP) or similar certification is preferred.

Airport Attendant , Midwest National Air Center

The Airport Attendant is an entry level position responsible for performing general maintenance of systems and grounds, and assisting customers at Clay County's Midwest National Air Center. This position reports directly to the Airport Attendant III position.

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Experience with light equipment and other vehicles. Knowledge & skill with personal computers. Valid motor vehicle operator license and the ability to drive a motor vehicle under normal and emergency response situations. Prior to appointment candidates will be subject to a background investigation.

Airport Attendant II, Midwest National Air Center

The Airport Attendant II is responsible for assisting with daily operations and customer service at the Midwest National Air Center as well as providing administrative and clerical support to the Clay County Airport Attendant III. The primary purpose of this position is to provide full service to customers, and serve as account payable and receivable clerk.

High school diploma or GED equivalent.Intermediate skill level with personal computers.Intermediate skill level with Excel and Word. Valid motor vehicle operator license and the ability to drive a motor vehicle under normal and emergency response situations. Prior aviation related experience preferred.

Operation Services I, Parks

The Operation Services I is responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Parks Operations Manager. This position takes campground reservations, provides support services, balances and prepares daily deposits, and assists the public on the phone and in person.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with specialized course work in general office practices such as typing, filing, accounting and bookkeeping. Must possess one to three years of increasingly responsible experience in parks and recreation programs or related education and experience. Experience in creating and distributing brochures is desired. Experience in special event planning is desired.

Park Ranger , Parks

The Park Ranger provides park law enforcement and safety services to employees and park patrons while on patrol. Provides emergency services and information to visitors to encourage proper behavior and protect park resources and facilities. Provides support to other divisions and law enforcement agencies as required.

Must have working knowledge of park operations and law enforcement practices and procedures. Must have skill in operations of required tools and equipment. Must be able to effectively meet and deal with the public; handle stressful situations; communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Must be able to pass qualification exams for firearms. Firearm carry is required for position. Must obtain certification in Red Cross first aid, advance first aid, CPR, lifesaving techniques and defensive driving. Must possess a valid Missouri Driver's License.
