Operator I, Highway Department

The primary purpose of this position is to perform professional level tasks in the construction and maintenance of county roadways. The Operator 1 will operate all types of equipment and tools needed to repair or maintain roads, bridges, culverts, ditches and right of ways and be on-call for after-hours emergencies or public safety incidents such as snow removal, road obstruction removal and major storm clean up. This is a responsible position that works with general oversight and direction from the Operator 3 and may on occasion work independently.

Minimum qualifications :
  * High school diploma or GED equivalent
  * Class A CDL with ability to obtain HazMat and Tanker endorsements within six months of hire.
  * Experience and working knowledge of heavy and light equipment, trucks and other vehicles
  * Reputation for honesty and trustworthiness is required. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity and recency. Prior to appointment candidates will be subject to a background investigation.

Working Hours:
6:30 am- 5:00 p.m. M-T

Starting Salary:
$26,850 - $28,530/year, plus Benefits.

Maintenance I , Facilities Management

The Maintenance I position is responsible for performing general maintenance of systems in County owned buildings and grounds. Regularly involved in carpentry, electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, plumbing and maintaining facility grounds and equipment using power tools, hand tools, mowers, trimmers, trucks, loads and tractors to complete tasks. This position reports directly to the Maintenance III positions.

Minimum qualifications :
  * High school diploma or GED equivalent
  * Two to four years of increasingly responsible related work experience
  * Or an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  * Experience in a related field such as boilers, plumbing, carpentry, painting, electronics, custodial, or grounds-keeping.
  * Possession of a valid driver's license and have the ability to drive a motor vehicle under normal and inclement weather situations.
  * Reputation for honesty and trustworthiness is required. Misdemeanor and/or felony convictions may be disqualifying depending on type, number, severity and recency. Prior to appointment candidates will be subject to a background investigation.

Desired qualifications :
  * A valid Class "A" CDL state driver's license is preferred.

Starting Salary:
$12.90 - $13.72/hour, plus Benefits.

Purchasing Manager, Purchasing Department

The County of Clay, Missouri has an opening for a Purchasing Manager. The primary purpose of this position is to lead, plan, manage, and evaluate a comprehensive program designed to deliver efficiency while maximizing taxpayer dollars through public procurement. This position will create, implement, and continually evaluate long and short term purchasing delivery objectives and ensure compliance with legislative mandates and procurement policies and procedures. Progressively responsible experience in a purchasing function at a professional level will be considered in lieu of education beyond a high school diploma.

Park Ranger, Parks

The Park Ranger provides park law enforcement and safety services to employees and park patrons while on patrol. Provides emergency services and information to visitors to encourage proper behavior and protect park resources and facilities. Provides support to other divisions and law enforcement agencies as required.

Minimum qualifications:
* Must have working knowledge of park operations and law enforcement practices and procedures.
* Must be able to effectively meet and deal with the public; handle stressful situations; and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
* Must be able to pass qualification exams for firearms. Firearm carry is required for position.
* Must obtain certification in Red Cross first aid, advance first aid, CPR, lifesaving techniques and defensive driving.
* Must possess a valid Missouri Driver's License.
* Must have a Class "B" certification from the Department of Public Safety (P.O.S.T.).
* Must be in excellent physical condition.

Starting Salary:
$33,003 - $35,066/year, plus Benefits.

Public Services Specialist (Part-time), Public Services

This positon will work no more than 20 hours a week.

The primary purpose of this position is to record, preserve, and maintain multiple types of public records including land records, marriage licenses, UCC filings and military discharges according to compliance with state laws and regulations. This positon will work with the public providing general information and assisting with retrieval of records.
