Seasonal Park Naturalists (Part Time), Parks

Provide interpretive outdoor/conservation education programs for people of all age groups and backgrounds in an outdoor setting, library, school, church, etc.; research and develop program topics; collect program materials; handle plants, amphibians, reptiles, and other animals; correctly identify species of plants and animals; deals with public in person, via telephone, at county offices, distribute brochures, maps, and other handouts; maintain park areas through use of mowers, trimmers, sprayers, and trash removal. Use of hand and power tools; some minor construction may be involved; office duties - customer service, answer telephones, file, copy, etc.; complete and submit weekly and monthly activity logs; follows all County and departmental safety rules, regulations and procedures; and performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as necessary or assigned.

Must be at least 18 years old and must be legally licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle and the ability to drive a motor vehicle under normal and emergency response situations. Excellent oral and written communication skills; intermediate experience level with Microsoft Office products; and prefer currently enrolled, degree seeking student in a college or university majoring in environmental interpretation, parks/recreation, wildlife management, forestry, botany, environmental sciences, education, or closely related field.

Seasonal Golf Course Maintenance Workers, Parks

Performs ground maintenance tasks: mow, greens, tees, fairways and rough, edge, trim grass areas; operates and maintains greens mowers, golf course rough mowers, fairway mowers and tee mowers; performs preventive maintenance on equipment: change oil and filter; grease moving parts; air up and/or change tires; sharpen or change blades, belts, springs, chains; clean by pressure washing or with compressed air; operates golf course vehicle fleet and grounds maintenance equipment: including, pick-ups, trailers, utility tractor, fairway mowers, rough mowers, greens mowers tee mowers and trim mowers, turf utility vehicles; general knowledge of equipment and tractor operation; follows all County and departmental safety rules, regulations and procedures; and performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as necessary or assigned. Tourism Coordinator, Public Services

The Tourism Coordinator develops a comprehensive tourism program that promotes Clay County, Missouri. This position will responsible for marketing, advertising, and identifying tourist demands. Additionally this position will be responsible the tourism budget, expenditures,grants,tourism web-site and other social media outlets. This is an exempt position which may require some evenings and weekends as needed.

Bachelors or Associates Degree in Marketing, Economics, Business Administration, Communications or a related field, and/or five years or more of relevant experience in a related field such as hospitality marketing/management, communications or public relations.Experience or specialized course work in general office methods and procedures. Three to five years of increasingly responsible related experience. Equivalent combination of related education and experience may also be considered. Valid Missouri Driver License as travel around the county is required. Additional travel may be required. Experience working in the public sector. Extensive experience in a destination management leadership role at a convention and visitor's bureau or other tourism promotion agency or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience

Working Hours:
Generally M-F 8-5 but hours may vary between 8-5 or 7-3:30 shifts depending upon assignment location.

Starting Salary:
$40,000 - $45,000/year, plus Benefits.

Transportation Manager, Operations

The Transportation Manager works directly for the Assistant County Administrator-Operations. The primary purpose of this position is to lead, plan, manage, supervise and evaluate a comprehensive program designed to deliver efficiency while maximizing taxpayer dollars in the maintenance and construction of Clay County infrastructure and airport facilities. The Transportation Manager will manage and lead crew on county roads and at the airport. The position will create, implement, and continually evaluate long and short term transportation delivery objectives that are responsive to the needs of Clay County citizens and visitors. Monitors monthly expenditure reports and works closely with administration regarding the budget process and progress.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a related field; experience will be considered in lieu of education.

Seasonal Deputy Collector Positions , Collector's Office

The Clay County Collector's Office is seeking applicants for full-time temporary positions from mid-November to early January. Duties include accurately receiving and recording tax collections; answering phones; posting payments to a computer system; and balancing a cash drawer at the end of each shift. A positive attitude, punctuality, a commitment to collaboration in a team environment, and an ability to interact effectively and enthusiastically with the public are essential duties of every position in the Collector's office. Minimum qualifications: HS diploma/GED; 6 months of experience in 1) cash handling, OR 2) phone based customer service, OR 3) detailed data entry. $10.00/hr. Collector's office hours are M-F 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Interviews will take place the week of Sept. 21-25, 2015. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK FULL TIME THROUGH THE HOLIDAY SEASON. The Collector operates out of two locations, one on the Liberty square, and one off of Vivion Road. Applicants should indicate their preferred work location on their application, or indicate a willingness to work at either location.

Golf Course Technician, Parks

The Golf Course Technician position is an entry level position responsible for performing general maintenance of systems and grounds, and assisting customers at Clay County's golf courses. This position works under general oversight and direction from the Golf Course Technician Ill position.
