Clay County Green Building Code
In 2010, Clay County adopted by reference with 1 amendment ICC 700 National Green Building Standard™ (NGBS). County Commission Ordinance approved the Clay County Green Building Code (2010-ORD-33). It is important to note that the Clay County Green Building Code is voluntary, not mandatory for all construction.
The resulting NGBS is the first and only residential green building rating system to undergo the full consensus process and receive approval from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The Standard defines green building for single- and multifamily homes, residential remodeling projects, and site development projects while still allowing for the flexibility required for regionally-appropriate best green practices.
Clay County Green Building Incentive Program
In association with the Clay County Green Building Code, the Clay County Commission authorized the funding of the Clay County Green Build Incentive Program in 2012.
