Job Information
Clay County Missouri is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Airport Manager for the Midwest National Air Center. This is a highly responsible manager level position that works independently with general oversight and direction.
This position will plan, organize, perform and direct general functions for areas of supervision according to county policies established by the Commission to deliver efficiency while maximizing taxpayer dollars in the planning, engineering, construction and maintenance activities of the Clay County Midwest National Air Center facilities with Deputy County Administrator – Facilities oversight. The Airport Manager will provide general supervision over professional and technical staff engaged in construction, repair and maintenance of Clay County’s airport infrastructure, leases, and hanger inspections; monitor monthly expenditure reports; and assist with grant writing and funding through Federal and State programs.
A background that includes a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course in Aviation Management, Aviation Safety, or a related field; experience will be considered in lieu of education, and eight years increasingly responsible related experience and/or training in aviation and airport management, construction and maintenance. As well as knowledge of fueling procedures and systems, handling and towing of aircraft. Current pilot’s license is preferred.
The current annual salary is $75,000 - $79,500.00 plus Benefits. The employee benefits package includes: two defined benefit retirement plans fully funded by the County and a deferred-compensation plan with a match on the first 6% contributed.
