HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT
ABOUT US
Citizens of rural Clay County rely on quality roads. The Highway Department works hard to make sure Clay County roads are ready in any season.
During the summer, our crews are mowing roadsides as well as maintaining and resurfacing asphalt, chip seal, and gravel roads throughout the County. In the spring and fall, personnel will be patching potholes, maintaining ditches, cleaning culverts, and cutting brush. Removing snow and ice fill our winter days, along with a variety of road and equipment maintenance tasks.
With more than 380 miles of roadway, 1900 under-road culverts, and 70 bridges in Clay County we are never short on work to do!
