Building Codes

Clay County has adopted building and construction codes listed below.  These adopted codes are copyrighted and too voluminous to be made fully available here, but can be obtained through the corresponding websites of the authoring organizations (NFPA., and ICC). 2012 Codes
The Clay County Commission approved the adoption of the 2012 family of building and construction codes with amendments by way of ordinance number 2012-ORD-24.  The new 2012 codes went into effect January 1, 2013, and included the following:

International Code Council (ICC)
• 2012 International Building Code (IBC)
• 2012 International Residential Code (IRC)
• 2012 International Plumbing Code (IPC)
• 2012 International Mechanical Code (IMC)
• 2012 International Fire Code (IFC)

National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
• 2011 National Electrical Code (NEC)
