Just Following Orders: Escape from Guerrilla Warfare in 1863

Sunday, June 14th, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at the Jesse James Farm & Museum

civilwardress.jpgDee Miller will share her tale, based on the real life 1863 raid on Lawrence Kansas, of a family caught in the midst of guerrilla warfare near the Kansas-Missouri border. This multi-media, interactive, kid-friendly program introduces Miller's characters, young Joshua and his family, and the turmoil that they faced when Order No. 11 was issued in response to aggression by pro-Confederate guerrillas. After the program, Ms. Miller will be signing copies of her book, Just Following Orders: Escape from Guerilla Warfare in 1863 in the museum's lobby.
