Keepsakes in Calico, The James Family Quilt Collection

An exhibit showcasing quilts made by women of the James family opened Friday, March 18, at the Jesse James Farm Museum. Six quilts spanning three generations are on display as well as related artifacts such as a sewing machine, sewing tools, a pattern and pillow cover.

The exhibit opening coincides with President Obama’s declaration of March 2011 as Women’s History Month.

Visitors are able to tour the exhibition with regular admission to the museum which includes a guided tour of the James’ family homestead, interpretive film and self-guided tour of the museum galleries.

Admission to the museum is $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for senior citizens 62 and older and $4.50 for children eight to 15. The Jesse James Farm is located two miles east of Kearney, Missouri, north of Missouri 92 Highway, at 21216 Jesse James Farm Road.
