Schoolfield Road Bridge

The new bridge on Schoolfield Road over Williams Creek (between NE 144th Street and NE 148th Street) was officially dedicated on June 19, 2014.  The bridge had been closed due to a broken support beam and was unsafe for any vehicle traffic.  Design and engineering for the project was done by Veenstra and Kimm Engineering of Liberty, Missouri.  Widel, Inc. of Blackwater, Missouri was the construction contractor.  The cost of replacing the bridge was shared by Clay County and MoDOT under the BRO bridge replacement program in which County funds pay for 20% and Federal funds pay for 80% of the cost.
