Clay County Announces Kick-off of Comprehensive Plan Process

Extensive Community Outreach Planned

(Clay County) – Clay County is launching a new Comprehensive Plan process to provide the community with a compelling vision and plan that will be used to guide decision-making and development. The Plan will provide an inclusive framework for the orderly and consistent planning for future growth of the unincorporated portion of the County with collaboration from the municipalities and jurisdictions within the area.  The focus of the plan will be a strong emphasis on land use, transportation, education, parks and trails, development patterns, housing types, infrastructure, and economic development.

The Comprehensive Plan process will include extensive community outreach opportunities that include focus group listening sessions, a community survey, visioning workshop, county-wide planning charrette, and pop-up events. The public can learn more about the project by visiting the Clay County Compass website includes information about the comprehensive planning process and ongoing community engagement opportunities. A direct mail piece will also be sent to Clay County residents that will guide the public in how to get involved.
