  • Local Scouts Honored

    Local Scouts Honored

    Liberty Troop 320 and Gladstone Troop 180 were honored by the Clay County Commission in June for their outstanding effort in providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and cleaning supplies to Early Care and Education Providers. 

    The Scouts and their parents protected 1,915 Clay County children, sorted and delivered over 2,800 boxes, delivered to over 332 local essential workers and volunteered over 346 hours combined.

    The Clay County Public Health Center's emergency order has expired as of May 14th, 2020

    With the expiration of the Emergency Order, masking is no longer mandated in Clay County. However, businesses and organizations may still choose to require certain COVID-19 precautions in a manner they deem most appropriate to protect staff and customers. Need to contact the Public Health Center?     Celebrating 200 Years

    The Clay County Commission has established a new citizen-led commission to commemorate Missouri’s bicentennial celebration, as well as Clay County’s original organization on January 2nd, 1822.

    The new Commission will work in conjunction with interested local parties to brainstorm community-driven ways to honor Clay County and Missouri's rich history and heritage.

    Clay County Commissioners visited the Cerner campus last Thursday to tour and support the Operation Safe Vaccination Site, a massive community coalition that was created to safely and efficiently deliver COVID-19 vaccinations to Clay County citizens. Read more.

    Fishing, public docks, boat ramps, boating, parking lots, disc golf and other outdoor activities remain accessible at beautiful Smithville Lake.. Trails and trailhead restrooms remain open. Camp Branch Marina will continue to provide boat fueling services. Smithville Lake is waiting for you!
