Welcome to Clay County Parks, Recreation, & Historic Sites!

Our vision is to provide Clay County citizens and all visitors with a higher quality of life. We strive to provide our visitors with an exceptional opportunity to participate in the wide variety of parks, recreation, historical facilities, and programs that we offer.

Clay County Parks, Recreation, and Historic Sites manages more than 6,000 acres of parks including Two Championship Golf Courses, 80.5 miles of trails, 752 campsites, 2 marinas, swim beaches, docks, and shelters at Smithville Lake, two renowned museums, and other historic sites, and two parks - Rocky Hollow and Tryst Falls - between Kearney and Excelsior Springs.
